Our client is currently operating two of the largest projects currently in Christchurch and is seeking a Health and Safety / COVID-19 safety officer with your main responsibility to be minimising the risk of coronavirus across the two current projects.
Directly reporting to the Project Manager, the lucky applicant must be a strong communicator with excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills. The role dictates that the majority of time will be spent out on-site so the successful candidate must be comfortable spending large amounts of time on their feet. You will be liaising with all personnel on-site from direct employees to subcontractors and everyone in between. It is vital that all staff buy into the HSE culture on-site and the additional COVID-19 processes.
What the role offers:
Right now new procedures, policies and protocols are being finalised and implemented and it will be your responsibility to ensure all personnel are adhering to them. Some of the new protocols include social distancing, hygiene and general cleanliness. You must be able to communicate effectively with everyone, be proactive and be able to give advice surrounding issues that may arise.
